Day 11 - "Thankful Thursday" - SOLSC

Somebody told me that I pour my heart and soul into my posts. Maybe I divulge too much, but that is me, a pretty passionate, empathetic, and emotional gal. I wear my heart on my sleeve and maybe I am too quick to share my feelings and open up my heart, but I can't change who I am. I might have scared off some readers by my bold statements and in-your-face emotions. Yet, every day I walk around like a vivid flash of lightning. I feel everything pretty deeply. Just like with the things I am passionate about, I can't hide how I feel or who I am. I did that for way too long. 

In honor of openness and passion, today I wanted to share with you something else that I love - a good list! 

So in honor of thankful Thursday, I am sharing a list of things I am thankful for: in no particular order. 
  • Flair Pens
  • Whiteboards
  • Iced Coffee
  • Jelly Beans
  • Post-Its
  • Poncherillo
  • My Parents
  • My Brother and his unwavering faith in his sisters.
  • My Niece and Nephew
  • My Car - I LOVE my Juke. I've had two! 
  • Music, because without music my life wouldn't be complete.
  • My Students
  • My Student teaching placements and my supervising teachers, they taught me so much.
  • My undergrad experience, and how my teachers and supervisors were amazing! 
  • Water
  • Food, another true joy of my life.
  • My Health
  • My Radio Career
  • My Teaching Career
  • My acceptance into Grad School! 
  • My third-grade counterparts: (Who may or may not have totally left me a completely thoughtful congrats on getting into grad school gift that had me crying like a baby this afternoon, wow.) (It also came with FLAIR PENS!) Again, Wow.
  • Life - It has presented so many blessings, that I have to stop and thank God for taking care of me and sending people into my life that truly fill my heart and soul with so much joy.

What a wonderful list here. Like you, I may or may not have had folks tell me I put a LOT into EVERYTHING. And like you, I often call upon gratitude when the time needs it. I'm also with Adrienne. I hope you share some radio stories soon!

The blog challenge might be over, but I find that I miss writing. I miss expressing my new teacher's testimony and today I felt compelled to write. We had bees, state testing, and a room-clearing all in one day. I am "abuzz" with grad school work, meetings, and thoughts of where my new journey in education will go. My mind is full of thoughts, so many thoughts. When will I no longer be considered a "new teacher?" What will my classroom look like next year? Will I have one? Where will this journey take me? Day 23 - "I See You" - SOLSC

#SOL21 Even when our class isn't called for the school drill, I see you. Even when the lunch staff forgets to bring you your lunch and you miss half of it, I see you. Even when you aren't invited to the class because of numbers and social distancing, I see you. Even when you are forgotten to be called down for specials classes, I see you.  Even if nobody cares to see you, I will forever see you. Until next time, *GB

Day 22 - "Only 4 Days Until Spring Break!" - SOLSC

#SOL21  Monday is my least favorite day of the week. This isn't because the week offers a bazillion opportunities to advance my skills and craft, but because the weekend seems so far away. Today we were thrown a curveball - a student was absent so I had a class of 1 for the day! (I also had to run groups remotely throughout the day for the kiddos who aren't in my self-contained class. Yes, I made this schedule so essentially I did this to myself.) I think the highlight of the day today was during lunch. Since I have to eat with my students I find this time to be a chance that I can get to know them even more. So today with my class of one, I look over and see a look of complete disgust on his face. I say to him, "are you ok?" He was looking at his chicken and tells me, "chicken makes me throw up." Yep out of the mouth of wee ones, comes the slice of the day. Plus, a big chuckle out of Ms. B.
