Day 24 - "The End of an Era" - SOLSC

#SOL21

Today is the last full remote learning day. I will hold remote groups tomorrow, but my class of two will now be in every day! Of course, there are only 2 days left until Spring Break, but wow what an accomplishment. As a new teacher, I managed to change student schedules and my own more times than I care to admit and I still survived. Today I celebrate the excitement that I will get to spend the rest of the school year with students. No more parents watching our lessons or how silly Ms. B looks as she dances along with the GoNoodle, no more looking at the inside of each other's personal homes. Nope, it's just time for US! I am looking forward to the last weeks of school as this will be the last time I'll be with these two kiddos. I try not to think about that because I get pretty emotional.

In other news, it's 6:30pm and I am STILL working on the final schedule. I think we have almost every minute accounted for. Also, I learned that my first graduate professor enjoyed a radio career before she became a teacher too! How fun! I am really excited and super nervous to be starting graduate school in just over a week. I never imagined I would be here, but here I am and here we go! The end of an era.

Until next time...

We have been hybrid since January and are going five days in person after spring break. I agree that there has been a lot of change this year! What a year for you to start! Good luck.

You sound super excited! Such a feat to be a new teacher in this crazy, mixed up year. Keep dancin' to those Go Noodles - it will keep you young and fun!

What a big and important transition for you all! Yes, it will take some adjustments and some growing pains, but oh! To be with kids in person. There really is no substitute. Here's to a great (next) first day!
